Common questions

Find your next step.

How do I install the apps?

Sign in at account.vafl.tools and open its Downloads page for the current Windows and macOS files and their checksums. Early-access builds are available by invitation; see the Downloads page for what is published. Neither desktop app is offered through the Microsoft Store or Mac App Store at this time.

How do I sign in?

There is no license key. Enter your email address in the app’s settings (Account & updates in VaFL Drafts, Current plan in VaFL Toolkit) or at account.vafl.tools, and a one-time code arrives by email. Each signed-in computer receives its own license and renews it in the background. A named user may sign in on up to three computers per application; My account lets you sign one out.

Where can I cancel or request a refund?

Direct subscribers will cancel future renewal through My account and its billing controls. Refund requests are reviewed individually; cancellation does not automatically create a refund. Contact support if account access is unavailable. For an older purchase through another provider, use that provider’s billing controls or contact us for help.

Does VaFL Drafts need a subscription?

VaFL Drafts is the Toolkit’s companion app and is included with either plan, GAL or Complete. Install the Toolkit first; Drafts picks up your firm profile and letterhead from it, and its Settings import the AI preferences.

Can I work offline?

Core local work does not require cloud AI or Dropbox. Model downloads, cloud requests, connected services, account access, and license activation or periodic refresh require internet access. A signed-in computer keeps working offline for up to 30 days between license refreshes.

What does local AI require?

A compatible local model service and adequate hardware. Cloud models use your selected provider and credentials. Apple on-device options require a supported Mac and system configuration. Review the selected processing destination before including confidential content.

How do the apps share information?

Reviewed Toolkit packages and documents can open in VaFL Drafts. Returned drafts require import review. Shared trial workbooks exchange answers with revision checks; review conflicts before choosing which version to retain.

What should I include in a support request?

Include the app name, version, operating system, steps to reproduce, and a redacted error message or screenshot. Do not include client information, credentials, sign-in codes, or payment-card data. Keep a backup before troubleshooting or reinstalling.

Book a call

Talk it through with the attorney who built it.

Three kinds of video call, depending on where you are: deciding, getting started, or stuck on a connection. Each is one-on-one with Lawren Burroughs on Microsoft Teams, which opens in your browser, so there is nothing to install.

Online booking opens soon. Until then, request a time by email and you will get a reply with available times.

These calls cover the software: setup, workflow and whether it suits your practice. They are not legal advice and do not create an attorney-client relationship. Please keep client information off screen; a sample matter works well.
